Changing the Day

I think my summer experiment is finished.  I've always run on Monday mornings knowing that if I didn't start my Monday morning running I was more likely to skip running the rest of the week.  I've been trying out this Monday equals rest day schedule and it is not working for me.  I have a wicked hard time getting out of bed in the morning every single day of the week when I don't run on Monday.  So, back to Monday running I go just as soon as Monday comes around again.

I did manage to drag myself out of my bed this morning for my planned seven miles this morning.  1 mile easy...break...2 miles at tempo pace...roll IT bands...1 mile easy + 1 mile tempo...have conversation with self...1 mile temp + 1 mile easy.  It was not easy.  It was not terribly fun.  It was hot.  It is DONE!!  Now, to see if I can do a repeat (although with fewer miles) tomorrow morning.

I agree with starting the week off running. However my running week starts on Sunday (that drives me crazy on DailyMile. Am I the only one who tracks things Sun - Sat?!) So I try to run on Sun and Mon. That way I've started the work week routine with a run. It really does help in getting the rest of the week on track.

For me it is more important that I do my exercise (running or other) in the morning. Skipping morning routine often means skipping many more mornings. Days of total rest are a start of laziness avalanche.

The day of the week doesn't seem to matter that much to me because as an academic my schedule tends to vary so much from day to day. But I much prefer to run in the morning. If I have to leave it for the afternoon, it becomes pretty unlikely that I'll end up getting a workout in.

Way to get out there and bust out the seven miles! I am the same way...if I don't run and stick to a plan it is hard for me to get out of bed:(

My college boy is taking so many hard classes...Chem 2 is his first class at 8 am:) I feel sorry for him but I know you and your hubby will appreciate his need to get it over with right away!

I took a rest day this past Monday and felt off all week! I think starting the week out right is the only way to go!
