150 Posts and a Giveaway

I've had a website or a blog for quite some time (mainly sites for our families so they could keep up with my kids' happenings) and this is my first giveaway!  I'm excited.  Thanks to my SIL Kelly for setting me up with the goods.*

Hammer Nutrition has some wonderful products and their site is informative.  One of my favorite parts of their website is the "Which fuel is right for me?" section.  I tried some HEED over the weekend when I was in and out running and they went down smooth and didn't cause any tummy troubles.  I think my tummy was happy because HEED is not sugar loaded, is vegan friendly, and gluten free.  The mandarin orange tasted just like a Creamsicle to me - I can't wait to use it during the summer.  On to the good part, the giveaway.

The Whole Lot

There are a lot of products here!  Here's what Hammer Nutrition says about their products:

Hammer Gel 4 Single Servings: Espresso, apple-cinnamon, unflavored, orange

(I have no idea why this picture is sideways)

  • Rock solid energy.
  • Made with real fruit and wholesome ingredients.
  • Versatile and economical.
  • Espresso and Tropical contain caffeine.
  • Gluten-Free and Vegan Friendly.
  • Contains no MSG.
Hammer Gel is versatile as well - you can drink it straight, add it to your water bottle, or combine it with Sustained Energy, HEED, and Perpetuem to create a variety of tasty energy combinations for any length activity, anywhere, anytime.

Heed, High Energy Electrolyte Drink, 4 Single Servings:  melon strawberry, mandarin orange, and lemon-lime

  • Buffer lactic acid.
  • Help prevent cramps.
  • Gluten-Free and Vegan Friendly.
  • Contains no MSG.
Recoverite, Strawberry
(See picture above with HEED)
  • Minimize post-exercise muscle soreness.
  • Rebuild muscle tissue.
  • Restore muscle glycogen.
  • Gluten-Free.
  • Contains no MSG.
What do you do to enter?
You have a few ways to enter.  I'll use a randomizer to choose the winner.  This giveaway will close at the end of 2009.  Please leave a separate comment for each entry.

  1. Visit Hammer Nutrition, look around and leave a comment of what you would like to try (fuel, heed, etc).
  2. Become a follower (or let me know you already do).
  3. Link to this giveaway on your blog.
  4. Fill my calendar.  Leave a comment with your race schedule or other big event and I’ll add you to the Friday Fanfare!
*Kelly (and Hammer Nutrition) sent these products to me to try and give away.

I'm a follower :)
I also am a Hammer girl - their products don't cramp my stomach as much as some other products with sugars do. My favorite for the marathon/training is Perpetuem. I have not tried Heed but hear it's a great product. I'd love to win that one :).
Happy Weekend!

Big event? Does turning the big 3-0 on Jan. 24 count?

Racewise, I'm looking at the Green Bay half marathon on May 16 and the High Cliff Triathlon on June 19. Other events are still TBD.

Thanks for hosting the giveaway!

Hammer products have some many good looking items but I think what I really want to try is the
Gel Sampler Kit - All 9 Flavors! That way I could really get a taste for the fuels!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

I think I'd like to try the hammer whey protein powder. I know I do not get enough protein in and was actually thinking of getting some protein powder. There is 18 g of protein in one serving and only 80 cals!

I love the Hummer Gels, especially the apple cinnamon, but never see them in my local running stores. I received some from a race, and hands down, their apple cinnamon is the best (other brands taste yucky!).

As for my races, I am keeping things open right now in order to let my hip and knee heal. I do have a half marathon scheduled for Feb 7.
